Christopher Stemen • Associate Vice President
Christopher Stemen has more than 25 years of facility services experience, and has worked in all aspects of facilities–from strategic planning to operations leadership. Since joining Aramark in 1998, Chris has held various national leadership roles in strategic facility planning, sustainability, client services and engineering solutions. Chris currently oversees our Engineering and Asset Solutions staff, comprised of over 100 engineers, architects and facility professionals; all with the focus on providing unparalleled support for the build environment. Services provided include capital program management, energy management, building commissioning and optimization, facility condition assessments and strategic facility planning.
Chris also collaborates with the corporation on developing sustainability programs in facility, dining and conference center environments. Chris was instrumental in the initial development of Aramark’s environmental stewardship program, Green Thread. Today, Chris is responsible for over 25 dedicated resources focused around sustainability related initiatives.
On behalf of Aramark, prior to his current position, Chris was the director of strategic and analytical services and was responsible for overseeing a staff of professionals who provided analytical, strategic, budgetary and consulting services to numerous clients. He has performed services including facilities condition assessments, space utilization studies, energy analyses, benchmarking studies, and other specialty facility organizational studies. His responsibilities have included project management, quality assurance and customer satisfaction for each of the clients served, as well as recruiting and training of the staff.
Prior to joining Aramark, Mr. Stemen spent eight years providing independent consulting solutions to a wide variety of clients. Services included site assessments, facility planning, capacity analyses, capital equipment justifications, facilitation of customer service initiatives, production line flow balancing, and process improvement studies and training. In this capacity, Chris has dramatically reduced operational and process costs in the manufacturing, education, horticultural and facility management industries.
Chris has also performed at the managerial level for facility management companies, a plant nursery corporation, and in manufacturing. Chris has worked for small independent firms as well as large organizations, including the Culbro Corporation, General Dynamics, Rubbermaid, and General Motors.
Education: B.S. Industrial Engineering, Purdue University. Certifications: LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP), Total Quality Management (TQM) Certified.
